Timeline and Rendering

Timeline controls

Use the playback controls to review the scene and move between key moments:

  • Jump to Start: Moves the playhead to the beginning of the scene.
  • Previous Keyframe: Moves the playhead to the previous keyframe.
  • Play/Pause: Starts or pauses playback from the current time.
  • Next Keyframe: Moves the playhead to the next keyframe.
  • Jump to End: Moves the playhead to the end of the scene.

Keyframes

Keyframes define the camera’s position and settings at specific points in the Timeline. Add multiple keyframes to create camera movement between those points.

To add a keyframe:

  1. Move the playhead to the desired time.
  2. Position and adjust the camera.
  3. Select Add Keyframe or press F.

To remove a keyframe:

  1. Move the playhead directly over the keyframe.
  2. Select the Remove Keyframe button next to Add Keyframe, or press C.

You can also retime a camera-animation clip by selecting the value shown on the clip and entering any positive value:

  • keeps the original keyframe timing.
  • Values above move the keyframes closer together, making the animation play faster.
  • Values below spread the keyframes farther apart, making the animation play more slowly.

For example, makes the animation twice as fast, while 0.5× makes it play at half speed.

This setting retimes the animation by rearranging the keyframes. It does not directly change the scene’s playback speed.

Render settings

Render settings control how the scene is rendered from the 3D Editor, including which camera is used, the output resolution, frame rate, and render style.

To open the render settings, select Send to Canvas in the lower-right corner of the screen, or press P.

Configure the following settings:

  • Camera(s) to Export: Choose the camera view you want to render.
  • Resolution: Select 720p, 1080p, 2K, or 4K.
  • Frames Per Second: Select 24 fps, 30 fps, or 60 fps.
  • Clay Render: Enable this option to render the scene in solid gray.

Clay renders can improve results with some video models when enhancing or replacing characters. The simplified render helps the model understand the character’s shape, movement, and position before generating the final pixels.

Send to Canvas

Send to Canvas renders the selected camera view, including the world, characters, and their animations, and adds the resulting video to Canvas.

After configuring the render settings, select Send to Canvas. When rendering is complete, the video appears in Canvas, where you can continue editing and generate the final output.
