Remeshing

Estimated reading: 1 minute

The Image to 3D tool includes built-in remeshing options that allow you to optimize the topology of the generated mesh.

You can choose between two remeshing algorithms:

Triangle Remeshing

  • Generates a triangle-based mesh.
  • Suitable for real-time rendering and game engines.

Quad Remeshing

  • Generates a quad-dominant mesh.
  • Ideal for animation, deformation, and further modeling.

Remeshing Modes

Adaptive Remeshing

Automatically adjusts mesh density based on surface detail.

Available quality levels:

  • Low
  • Medium
  • High
  • Ultra
  • MAX

Fixed Remeshing

Generates a mesh with a fixed vertex count.

  • Select a target vertex count between 10,000 and 200,000 vertices.

Generated Texture Maps

  • Diffuse Map
  • Metalness Map
  • Roughness Map

These textures are automatically applied to the mesh and previewed in the 3D Viewer.

Retexturing

You can also retexture the mesh by providing a new image as input, allowing you to update or change the surface appearance without regenerating the geometry.
